Ampharete vega can be up to 50 mm long. It lives in shallow soft bottom habitats in the Arctic, but there are no recent records of this species from Norwegian waters.

Remarks

The only records of Ampharete vega in Artskart, from Svalbard, dates back to the Swedish Arctic expedition in 1898. There are no recent records of the species in Norwegian waters. This might be due to very little sampling of Arctic shallow soft bottom habitats.

Similar species

The precense of paleae, in combination with the large number of abdominal uncinigers (26) makes it unlikely to confuse adult complete specimens of Ampharete vega with any other Ampharetidae in Norwegian waters.
