Molannodes tinctus is a small caddisfly with comparatively broad wings.

Its forewing is densely setose (bristly-haired) and varies from plain beige to beige and brown spotted to plain dark brown. The species is distributed over most of Norway. The larvae inhabit trickles, streams, slow-flowing rivers, ponds and lakes. They build cone shaped, portable cases with comparatively narrow, flattened lateral flanges.
