The family Goeridae is represented in Norway by two genera, each with a single species.

The species are small to medium sized with short, broad, densely setose (bristly-haired) wings. The larvae inhabit streams, rivers and lakes, often with stony substrate. They construct characteristic, portable cases using sand grains with small stones incorporated laterally.
