Key facts

Length 1–2 cm, width less than 1 mm. Body divided into a white, translucent and somewhat flatteded anterior part and a darker posterior part ending in a tiny tail. Head flattened and triangular during locomotion; eyeless and without distinct features, apart from the compact, whitish, triangular proboscis opening. Rhynchocoel half as long as body, proboscis visible through body wall. A slow creeper strongly associated with sandy mud.
