Key facts

Length up to 10 cm, width up to 3 mm. Head bluntly pointed with many eyes in two groups on each side. Colour variable depending upon reproductive state but typically pinkish white with lighter head and body margins. Cerebral organs visible as two reddish spots through body wall right behind rear groups of eyes. Locally abundant in sand or gravel from shore and down.
