New service from NBIC: The Habitat Database – launched today!
On September 30 the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre made public the new system for classification of habitats in Norway (NiN). The same day the Habitat Database was also launched. The database is a user friendly web based navigation tool for NiN.

Species Maps - a new service from the Norwegian biodiversity Information Centre

In cooperation with GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) NBIC today introduce a new map service on internet. The service Species Maps allows you to search 35 databases, located in 10 different scientific institutions, simultaneously. The databases so far contain data on 3 million species locations. A total of 12 600 species from 17 different species groups are represented. More data will be added to the service in 2008. Read more
The 2007 Norwegian Black List has been released!

The Black List is the first official survey of ecological risk analysis of alien species, and so far the most complete overview of such species in Norway. The survey includes 2483 alien species, of which risk analysis has been carried out for 217. A total of 93 species was found to represent a high risk to Norwegian ecosystems. Read more
